What does Favored mean to you? I think of words like accepted, loved, special and chosen. Seen with love and affection. But also as someone who a friend would want to spend time with. Someone who would choose to take time out of their day and spend it with me.

I was reading Ephesians 2:1-10 and it brought to mind what my pastor, Bill Hybels, always says. “You are a treasured child of the Most High God.”

As I was reading through the passage, words stood out to me that brought me back to my life before I followed Christ. Words like-dead in sin, disobedient, gratifying the cravings of my sinful nature-these words reminded me of some of the not so good things I did in my past. But then I read the words that are the blessings of being a Child of God. Words like-alive in Christ, saved, redeemed, grace, mercy, and kindness-words that show I am treasured by the God I love.

In Christ, I am favored. He chooses to live inside me through the Holy Spirit, spending every moment with me. He accepts me as I am, faults and all, loves me so much that He wants what is best for me, but best of all, He blesses my life each day. Because of Christ, I am filled with spiritual blessings.

“In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of Gods’ grace, that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.” (Ephesians 1:7)

“In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory.”
(Ephesians 1:11-12)

“Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.”
(Ephesians 1:13b)

“For He Himself is our peace” (Ephesians 2:14a)

“For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.” (Ephesians 2:18)

“And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by the Spirit.”(Ephesians 2:22)

As a follower of Christ, how have you seen God’s favor? Read Ephesians 1 & 2 and be reminded of His love for you.

If you don’t know Jesus, take the time to read Ephesians 1 & 2, soak in what life is like IN Christ. See all that He has to offer through the free gift of redemption.

Be blessed today!

This is one of my own biggest struggles. I feel loved with quality time spent. I feel accepted when people choose me to spend time with. Especially when it’s spontaneous. That phone call that says, “hey, you busy? wanna hang out?” I have to fight feelings of inadequacy and jealousy when I see friends enjoying time with their friends and I am not a part of it. But since knowing Christ, I have found that this can be my own battle to be “good enough”. He chooses me and reaches out to me daily. And sometimes I have to initiate the contact.
Thank you for this.
