I wanted to take a moment this morning to give thanks. I have been incredibly blessed by the encouragement and love of so many friends and family members as I have tried to write as God calls and leads. So many of you have taken the time to encourage me and be my cheerleader and it has meant so much to me. Your words have deeply touched me and have made a difference to me. Thank you. I value your friendships, your kind comments, and the love you’ve each poured into my life. You are a treasured gift from God.
As you gather around your tables today to share a meal with family and friends, I hope you’ll take the opportunity to express your love for one another. Be an encourager to one another just as Christ encourages you through His Word. Your words of love may be just what someone needs to hear today.
As I reflect on what I am thankful for, my mind turns to the love of Christ. I am forever grateful to be called a child of God. Because He gave himself up for me, as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God (Ephesians 5:2), I am given a new more beautiful life. Through His Holy Spirit I have life, joy and peace. I am grateful to be in relationship with a loving God who desires me to grow and to extend love in His glorious name. I am in Him and He in me (John 14:20) and I am thankful He entrusts me to be His hands and feet.
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. (Colossians 2:6-7)
Enjoy this Thanksgiving and be blessed,
